Los Angeles [US], August 22 (ANI): Music producer Benny Blanco revealed that he lost nearly five pounds after eating only pizza for five days as part of an unusual diet experiment to prove that weight loss can happen while eating any food, according to E! News.
Blanco, 38, shared the results of his experiment in a TikTok video posted on August 19, explaining that he wanted to "prove you can lose weight eating literally anything."
The music producer began the challenge weighing 152.2 pounds and chose a large thin-crust cheese pizza from Domino's as his only food for the week, according to E! News.
"This is 1/16 of everything I can eat today," Blanco said while holding a slice of pizza on the first day of the challenge.
However, the experiment soon became difficult as he faced unexpected hurdles, including someone eating several slices of his pizza at work, according to E! News.
"Just came back into work and someone ate like eight slices of my pizza," he said on day two.
During the same day, Blanco visited the Sunset Tower Hotel with his wife Selena Gomez, who enjoyed her own meal at the Los Angeles hotspot while he continued with his pizza-only routine.
By the third day, Blanco admitted that the repetitive meal had started affecting him.
"I'm tired of pizza. I hate my life," he said, according to E! News.
On the final day of the challenge, he joked about his unusual diet, saying, "I don't even remember who I am as a human being. Like, what was life before pizza?"
Despite the struggle, Blanco said he felt good during the experiment, adding that he had a "spring in my step."
At the end of five days, Blanco's final weigh-in showed that he weighed 147.5 pounds, according to E! News.
"I just lost 4.7 pounds in five days eating only pizza," he said. "Nothing matters. You can do whatever you want."
Blanco and Gomez are also known for sharing their love for food and cooking. The couple celebrated Gomez's birthday in July with an Italian feast during a cooking class in Tuscany, where they prepared dishes including pasta, stuffed zucchini flowers and eggplant parmigiana.
"My baby makes the best eggplant parmigiana," Blanco said in a July Instagram video. "You scoop a little bit then you put it on a slice of bread. That's the best thing I've tasted in Italy so far," according to E! News.
The couple has also shared several cooking moments online, including making watermelon pickle sandwiches and celebrating Valentine's Day with a bathtub filled with nachos. (ANI)
