Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bharadwaj alleges forest land encroachment under BJP govt

New Delhi (India), October 1 (ANI): Delhi Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president Saurabh Bharadwaj on Thursday alleged that forest land worth several hundred crores of rupees is being encroached upon in the national capital under the “patronage” of the Rekha Gupta government. 
In a post on X, he alleged that illegal construction and tree felling was taking place behind green and blue tin-sheet walls in forest areas.
“Forest land worth several hundred crores is being encroached under the patronage of Rekha Gupta Govt. Under the guise of loudly playing out DJs, behind these illegal green/blue tin sheet walls, trees are being cut illegally, illegal walls are being erected overnight to encroach forest lands worth hundreds of crores,” Bharadwaj posted.
He specifically alleged that the builder mafia was active around Chhattarpur 100-foot Road under political patronage. 
He said, "At Chhattarpur 100 ft road, builder mafia is active under political patronage.  After development of few luxury malls in this area, the greed of politicians is growing like wild fire." 
He alleged that the BJP governemt only give speeches on pollution but the reality is different. 
“This is at the cost of your lungs. BJP Govt gives bhashan on pollution, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, but in reality, thousands of trees are being illegally cut in this forest area,” he said.
Bharadwaj also alleged that the Environment and Forest Department, under Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, was responsible for protecting forests but claimed that it appeared to be part of a “criminal conspiracy” to  steal the forest land.
"Environment & Forest Dept under Minister is responsible for protesting forests but it appears to be part of criminal conspiracy to loot forest land," he said. 
 
He further questioned the role of various agencies and tagged Delhi Police, MCD, the Chief Minister’s Office and the Lieutenant Governor’s office in his post. (ANI)
