Himachal Pradesh: CM announces 1st ozone-based drinking water project in Dehra, veterinary hospital at Baddal Thor

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 29 (ANI): Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday said that Himachal Pradesh's first ozone-based drinking water treatment project was being established in the Dehra area to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water to people, and the state government has allocated Rs 46 crore for this project.
Addressing people at Baddal Thor in Dehra assembly constituency of Kangra district, he said that similar ozone-based water treatment projects would subsequently be established across the state to ensure safe drinking water. He said that consumption of contaminated water could cause several diseases, making it essential to provide people with clean and safe drinking water.
He also announced the opening of a veterinary hospital at Baddal Thor to strengthen veterinary services in the area.
Sukhu said the state government had also initiated the process of providing benefits under the Mukhyamantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana, for which surveys were currently being conducted in panchayats.
The government was committed to ensuring that even the person standing at the last rung of society gets a rightful share in the state's resources. He said that since the Congress government came to power in the state, several initiatives had been undertaken to make the state self-reliant, and the positive results of these efforts were now becoming visible.
The Chief Minister said the Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana had been launched to involve yuva and mahila mandals in planting and protecting forests. Under the scheme, self-help groups are provided financial assistance of Rs 1.20 lakh, besides incentives linked to the survival of plantations. He said the state government was also taking several steps to strengthen the education sector. CBSE schools had been opened in the state, and more such schools would be established in the coming period to provide quality education to students.
The Chief Minister said that there would be no dearth of funds for development in Dehra and that adequate funds were being spent on various development works across the constituency.
Earlier, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu received a warm welcome from residents upon his arrival at Baddal Thor helipad in the Dehra assembly constituency. Local MLA Kamlesh Thakur and other Congress representatives honoured the Chief Minister.
Later, the Chief Minister visited the Laxmi Narayan Temple at Chanour and offered prayers. He prayed for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. (ANI)
