Rahul Gandhi posters as 'real-life Batman' put up outside Congress HQ

New Delhi [India], August 23 (ANI): Posters portraying Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi as a "real-life Batman" were put up outside the Indian National Congress headquarters in the national capital.
The posters feature Gandhi alongside the tagline: "The silent guardian, a watchful protector. LoP Rahul Gandhi, the real-life Batman."
Earlier this month, Gandhi participated in an "Ask Me Anything" session with students and young citizens on the social media platform Instagram. Responding to a light-hearted question asking if he was Batman, Gandhi had quipped, "Let's just say that no one has ever seen me and Batman in the same room together," fuelling viral online trends and student-led memes.
After participating in the Jantar Mantar protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), Gandhi, along with Congress leaders and Sahil Lochav, who has alleged that pellet guns were used against him during the protest, staged a sit-in outside the Parliament Street Police Station and demanded the registration of an FIR on Friday.
'Refusing to leave until action was taken, Gandhi declared, "No FIR, no justice. So we sit." His intervention eventually forced the Delhi Police to register a formal FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
On Thursday, the Supreme Court constituted a five-member High-Powered Expert Committee (HPEC), headed by retired apex court Justice R Subhash Reddy, to conduct a fact-finding exercise into allegations of police excesses as well as violence by protesters during the recent Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led demonstrations.
The committee comprises former Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Ravi Shankar Jha, former Delhi High Court Justice Shalinder Kaur, former CBI Director Rishi Kumar Shukla and former Meghalaya DGP LR Bishnoi. (ANI)
